Here is the recipe from my Grandmother Marcia “Billie” Cowart for Wonder Waffles.  Many a time my dad and I would make these on the weekends for mom.  They are so very light that I bet you will eat more than just one…


The recipe calls for the following:

2 cups flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

1 & 1/2 cups milk

2 eggs separated

1/2 cup butter melted


Beat egg whites then the yolks, add milk slowly to yolks.

Combine all dry ingredients and sift, then start adding to the egg yolk mixture as that is mixing add the melted butter.

Finally, fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
