This recipe is one I learned from my mother’s father when I was just a kid, so it is very kid friendly.  He lived in a very small town in south Florida where most everything was either an orange grove or a cattle ranch.  My grandmother died when I was just a year and a half old, but a real highlight for me was to spend time with my grandfather, or as we called him Papa, during the summer.  It was always a fun adventure in his attic or going to the stockyards, feeding his cows, picking oranges but no matter what we did he taught me so much and I just loved spending time with him.  For dinners we generally went to a church dinner or over to the home of one of the many widows that might have been trying to catch him for marriage.  However, on some…
